Pre-Installation Confirmation
Before we carry out work at your property, we need to make you aware of a few points. Please carefully read through the points below and complete the form at the bottom:
A clear area in front of the working space
Please ensure that the immediate area around the windows is clear of any furniture or other items. If the area is not clear, we accept no liability if any issues occur due to our installers moving these items. We may also be forced to come away from the job and rearrange when the area is clear.
There may be other obstructions that need to be moved or disconnected prior to carrying out our installation. The most common of these are wires, cables and pipes that run through or underneath windows or doors, radiators that are fitted beneath windows (these must be removed) or telephone cables. Also, shutters, curtains and blinds must be removed prior to installation. If these are not removed prior to installation our fitters will notify us and if we are able to continue with the installation we will notify you of this and if any damage occurs to these we accept no liability. If we are unable to continue with installation, we will need rearrange for another day and a charge may be applied.
Dust sheets and floor coverings
Our installers will have a number of dust sheets and will cover the floor and any furniture near to the windows they are working on. If you would like them to take special care in certain areas or use shoe covers, please contact us to let us know.
Please note that we are undertaking building work. This can cause mess during the installation. This is particularly the case where we are replacing frames. We will make sure that everything is tidy before we complete work at your property but if you have any items which will be adversely affected by airborne dust it is strongly advised that these are moved well away from our installation work and covered in advance.
Parking
Due to the fact that we carry out work all over London and the South East our vans do not have any parking permits for any specific area. Our fitting teams are instructed to pay for parking and any costs incurred are added to your final invoice plus VAT (as instructed to us by HMRC). If you have off-street parking available or visitors’ permits that we can use, please contact us to let us know so that we can instruct our fitters accordingly.
Lead usage
This note is for sash replacement work only.
As is written on every sash replacement (new sashes installed into the existing box frames) estimate of ours we do not charge for counterbalancing lead weights in advance. This is because we do not know how much will be needed in advance. Our fitters are instructed to write down exactly how much lead is used per window and this is then added to your final payment invoice. Lead is charged at £2.50 plus VAT per lb.
Timings
Our installation team will aim to arrive to your property every day between 8am and 10am. Our workshop where our operatives collect all their materials from is based in Bromley and, due to the fact that we cover such a large radius we cannot be any more specific than this with our estimated arrival time.
We appreciate that many of our clients will need to leave for work before our fitters arrive. In this case we recommend that you give us a set of keys and our operatives can make sure that everything is securely locked before they leave your property every day.
We strongly advise against booking time off work around our installation dates. Our installation schedules are best estimates, sometimes jobs are finished more quickly than anticipated and sometimes jobs take longer. We do not send our installation team on a new job until they have completed the previous job. For these reasons we strongly advise against booking time off work around our installation dates.
Our fitters’ working days are Monday to Friday, they do not normally work at the weekend.
Completion
Our fitters will advise when they anticipate to complete work at your property. The will inform you of this before installation and contact you during installation to confirm this. We strongly advise that you are present for installation so that our fitters can run over the works with you and so that you can sign for completion. If you are not present for completion then we ask that you contact your fitter before 6PM on the evening of completion to confirm, otherwise we will consider the work completed under the terms of completion.
